Hebden Bridge is a glorious place to visit – home to a wondrous mix of independent shops and plenty of coffee & cake. Popular with ramblers, cyclists, tourists, families, skate boarders, artists, buskers, dogs and ducks!

There is a strong community spirit which is brimming with support for one another and pulls together when help is needed to clean up after flooding hits.

There are numerous special places in town including the award winning TRADES CLUB for music lovers, an art deco PICTURE HOUSE community cinema, and community hub at the TOWN HALL.

This gorgeous valley is in the borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire, which takes its name from the River Calder. Calderdale is formed of the towns BRIGHOUSE, ELLAND, HALIFAX, SOWERBY BRIDGE, HEBDEN BRIDGE and TODMORDEN. MYTHOLMROYD, together with Hebden Bridge, forms Hebden Royd.

You may have seen Hebden Bridge on the telly! The popular and award winning Happy Valley series created by Sally Wainwright was filmed here. Yorkshire born Sally also wrote the TV programmes Gentleman Jack and Last Tango in Halifax, which were both filmed locally in Calderdale. How terrific!

West Yorkshire hit THE COOL LIST 2019 of must-see destinations according to National Geographic Traveller, and Hebden Bridge was proud to be crowned winner of the 'Best Small Market Town' award and 'People's Choice' award in the Great British High Street Awards in 2016.

Our neighbours are pretty impressive too. Haworth was home to the Bronte Sisters, where they lived and wrote their famous novels, and Halifax showcases The Piece Hall, a sprawling 18th-century cloth hall which is now shops, bars and restaurants.

There is so much entertainment year-round; keep your eye out for events and come visit us. With good commuting links from Leeds, Manchester, Bradford, Rochdale, Burnley and Halifax, check-out WWW.VISITCALDERDALE.COM for more information.
