EST. 1998: VIEW A SELECTION OF OUR PAST FESTIVALS

VIRTUAL VALLEY: 2019

2019 saw us taking a closer look at our relationship with the digital world in our stunning heritage Pennine setting. We had music from electro trailblazers Wolfgang Flur, Martyn Ware and Maps. There were VR experiences, a chance to listen to Europe's love songs in the Oh Europa motorhome, Jenny Eclair, scavenger's workshops and behind the scenes with a Hollywood concept artist. But not everyone is wired up; the Analogue Fringe offered the chance to go off grid and explore, experience a museum of making and hear from some local makers why they choose to do it all by hand. Plus we had a whole raft of inspiring exhibitions including Fay Godwin's Elmet revisited 40 years on.

NON-CONFORMISM: 2018

Picture
2018 saw us embrace change-makers, rule-breakers and all things non-conformist. We had a programme featuring Martin Parr, Bridget Christie, Clare Shaw, Ed Miliband and a wealth of celebrated local artists, as well as a touring exhibition from the Southbank 'Beneath This Mask' a collection of the photographs of Claude Cahun. Why not watch our festival highlights video to give you an idea of what went on.
