Open Space 70 - our giant project for 2022 - 2023
We’ve been supported by the Platinum Jubilee Fund to deliver this giant creative project and we need you to be part of it!
Over a festival weekend in July 2023, 70 exhibitions, happenings, performances and walks will take place across Hebden Bridge and the surrounding area, all celebrating the natural world and sharing calls for action and change.
Between now and the festival weekend communities, individuals, environmental experts, professional artists, facilitators, and first-time makers, will work together to create Open Space 70.
The festival will take place in people’s homes and yards, in gardens, barns and fields, on boats and in public outdoor spaces.
The theme of Open Space 70 is climate emergency and what creative action we can all take to tackle it.

We hope you enjoyed our Open Space 70 launch party at Hebden Bridge Town Hall on Saturday 4 June - we had a blast. Over 150 people were able to try something new with a free workshop activity or guided walk.
Paul Knights, who ran landscape walks for our Open Space 70 launch party has written up the experience of leading the guided walks and talking to people about Past and Future Landscape Stories, on his blog, Landscape Story, which features photos taken by group members on the walks.
Here are some photos of the launch day's activities - which also included music, stalls and conversations about climate emergency and how we can creatively respond to the challenges of it.
