As a key commission for Calderdale Council’s Culturedale: Year of Culture 2024, our flagship project The Man Who Planted Trees brought creativity and community together across the borough.
Thanks to public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, we delivered a rich programme of public workshops, exhibitions, live events, and two vibrant community sharing days. We’re also grateful to the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, for their generous grant of £23,904 for our project year (Oct 2023–Sept 2024). This funding covered core staff costs (Creative Producer, Volunteer Coordinator & Administrator) and our shared office rent, helping us grow our volunteer programme, build long-term partnerships, and strengthen our organisational sustainability.
